We Advocate

The Lurie Children’s Founders’ Board Advocacy Committee informs and educates its members and the Board on local, state and national policy matters impacting the hospital, as well as children’s health and healthcare in support of Lurie Children’s vision to achieve a healthier future for every child. The Committee collaborates with the hospital’s external affairs professional staff to learn about these issues and to communicate Lurie Children’s positions on specific policy matters so as to help shape public policy for the benefit of children.

The Advocacy Committee serves as the conduit between hospital administration and the Founders’ Board on public policy matters and enlists the full Board’s and others’ support in communicating with state and federal lawmakers. The Committee seeks to foster understanding and support of policy initiatives among the Board and those we touch.
